The Need for Action Launcher
If you use Photoshop regularly, am sure you would have a big collection of Actions and ActionSet.
We normally run Actions from the Actions Panel. i.e. we start the Action Panel (if its not active), we browse through the ActionSets and then through the Actions in specific ActionSet and click on it to run the action.
While this process is simple and fine if you have Few ActionSets and few Actions. However as the number of Photoshop ActionSet and Actions in your collection keeps on increasing and if you have similarly sounding ActionSets/Actions it becomes quite a pain at time to find the Action in the first place.
Few of my friends wished if there would be a simpler way to Find the Action and/or Launch the Actions. Perhaps if there was a way to Tag Favourite Actions which would make life easy for them.
Well, this feedback from my friends let me to think about it and now, to make my friends life easy, I have published couple of Adobe Photoshop Extensions which does that. i.e. Action Launcher (Free) and Action Launcher (Pro).
As displayed in slider above, this Extension for Adobe Photoshop is full of features one might need for anything related to ActionSets and Actions.
Salient Features:
- Filter Actions by ActionSet
- Filter Actions by Text
- Filter Actions by Favourites ++
- Any combination of above 3
- Sort results by A – Z
- Sort results by Z – A
- Reload/Refresh Actions
- Quick clear Filter Text by clicking ‘x’ in text-box
- Remembers all your Settings, even after Photoshop Restart
- Super-Easy to Add/Remove Action from Favourites, just click the ‘Heart’ icon. ++
Watch it in Action below
Differences in both Extensions:
Both extensions i.e. Action Launcher (Free) and Action Launcher (Pro). come with the same features, however the Free version has the Favourites as a trial feature for 30 days.
Suggest you to try out the free extension and if you miss the Favourites feature, consider going Pro.
Hi: can you write a panel plugin that loads jsx files that run in photoshop like the Action launcher panel.
I want to hire you to write, is it possible?
